| "Shepherding others, into a growing relationship with Christ" God wants us in relationship so bad that he commands us to do it. (John 13:34) I believe He commanded us because we aren't naturally inclined to stay in a relationship. Rather, we seek a relationship when we are alone, then, when we've had enough, we blow it up and move on. I'm too embarrassed to tell you how many times I've employed this strategy. Learning to grow and STAY in a healthy relationship with others will require staying in relationship with Christ. This is the fundamental purpose of our life groups. Each week we overcome the challenges influencing us to stay home and instead choose to meet together and grow spiritually and develop personally. As we participate and unfold our lives over a period of time, before we realize it, we have significant, safe and trustworthy friends. (Psalm 15:1-3) Life groups aren't designed to be a substitution for weekly attendance at Adventure, but a glorious complement to "letting God love us and love others through us."
