Gideon and Mei Tanbunaan with Asian Pacific Christian Mission International in Indonesia
Asian Pacific Christian Mission International (APCMI) was founded in 1971 by Chuck and Nance Winegarner, from Southern CA. Indonesian nationals were brought into the leadership in the early years and the ministry was placed totally in the hands of the Indonesian leadership of Dr. and Mrs. Gideon Tanbunaan over twelve years ago.
Because the focus of APCMI remains on evangelism and church planting, the ministry founded the Missionary Training School in order to equip Christian men and women with mission training and skills. The focus is on cross-cultural church planting to fulfill a specific void in the outreach programs of APCMI, and to sponsor students who are preparing to become church planters and church leaders.
The free clinics they operate are seeing over 11,000 patients annually at no cost to the patient. They have an effective prison ministry with over 60 baptisms and four ex-convicts have dedicated their lives to full-time ministry. Their Christian radio ministry broadcasts to an area that includes five to six million people. Their village technology training program teaches skills to improve the standard of living of their church planters and their congregants. They presently have 163 churches and/or preaching posts in an area of strong Christian persecution.
We have partnered with APCMI since January 2007. Pastor Gideon may be reached at apcmi_apindo@yahoo.com.

Christians’ Haven was established by Ken and Angelica Oosting in 1996 in Iligan City. God laid a burden on their hearts to get involved in a ministry with street children. Christians’ Haven is now an orphanage outreach to street children. Their mission is to free children from poverty and despair and introduce them to Jesus Christ. Committed Christian house parents and ministry teams share God’s love with the children by providing them protection, shelter, discipline, care and education.
