Dear Friend –
As a former sales representative for DaySpring Cards, I sold a lot of cards and gifts that had the expression “Bloom Where You Are Planted.” While the expression may sound cliché, there is much wisdom in those five words. Any gardener knows that the deeper the roots go, the stronger the tree or plant is.
I noticed this when my wife and I planted our own rose garden. During the first year, the roses just weren’t as hearty or heat resistant as the roses we had seen in city parks. However, given a year of pruning, fertilizing and root growth, we noticed a tremendous difference in the beauty and resistance of the rose buds. As their roots became established, they began to flourish!
The Scriptures tell us in Luke 2:52 that Jesus kept growing “in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” In other words, Jesus was committed to growing in all ways – physically, spiritually, socially, and mentally. We would be wise to follow his example; however, in taking our cues from nature, we need to plant ourselves in the right environment for that growth to occur.
At Adventure we want you to “bloom where you are planted” and we offer several ministries opportunities to help you do just that. As you read through our web pages, we encourage you to find the right environment for you to grow and to serve. In doing so, you will begin to experience what we believe here at Adventure…that knowing God is truly life’s greatest adventure! If our team can be of service to you in the process, please don’t hesitate to call. May God bless you on the journey!
